Organised by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore and into its seventh run from 31 Aug – 6 Sep 2015, the Singapore Green Building Week (SGBW) will play host to international green building experts, policy-makers, academics, built environment practitioners, tenants and end-users, including members of the public and students, for a congregation of ideas, collaboration, partnership and learning, to achieve a shared vision of a greener planet through the green building movement.
The International Green Building Conference (IGBC) 2015 to be held in Marina Bay Sands from 2 – 4 Sep 2015, will be the anchor event of SGBW. As the premier green building event in Asia, IGBC 2015 expects to attract more than 1,000 participants from over 30 countries – from thought leaders, real estate developers to urban planners, architects, engineers, builders and other industry professionals – committed to understanding and putting into action real-world, tangible and leading green building solutions. Also present at the conference will be policy-makers and key government officials from several growth markets, who will give their unique public sector perspectives on green building solutions, policies and plans. Academics will also share their latest research findings in green building development.
This year, to complement Singapore’s Smart Nation vision, IGBC 2015’s theme will be ‘Build Green, Live Smart’. This theme calls for both the buildings and their end users to go ‘green’ and ‘smart’. ‘Build Green’ represents the call for greener infrastructure, while ‘Live Smart’ focuses on the action for end users to act more responsibly and live sustainably based on meaningful smart data collected. Through the engagement of global and regional stakeholders, approaches to green buildings and smartness in built environment will be actively tabled and shared at the conference.
