Update on vertical greenery study:
After 7 months of preparation, we have finally managed to set up the racks for vertical greenery measurements.
Through this study, we hope to learn more about:
- How green walls can reduce air, surface and mean radiant temperature
- How effective plants are at reducing temperature under different meteorological conditions
The racks, green wall system and plants are kindly supplied by Chop Ching Hin Pte Ltd.
Setting it up was a real challenge, and would have been impossible if not for the timely assistance of our student helpers as well as friends from CCH. Also, the modular green wall system really made installation a breeze. The light-weight pots (70g) can be hooked onto the metal mesh in one simple motion. Can’t get any simpler than that.
Preliminary analysis will be conducted in July 2014. Some results will be shared via this blog.
